The show goes back to 1985 but the idea of a floating show already excisted from late 1970's. From 2014 Båter i sjøen relocated to Aker Brygge - which is just in the city center of Oslo. Aker Brygge has plenty of restaurants, shops and other things to see and do and they all make the perfect surroundings to the boatshow. It also allows easy access for all vistiors - both by car and bus/trains. In 2016 there were 270 boats on display of which 35 were sailboats along with a wide range of equipment and all sort of maritime gear in booths on the pier.
